New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the victims of the 2001 terrorist attack on Parliament, marking the 23rd anniversary of the incident on Friday, December 13, and stated that the nation will forever appreciate their courage and dedication.

PM Modi honored them at a memorial event conducted in the Parliament complex. Eight security personnel and a gardener made the ultimate sacrifice during the attack executed by terrorist groups based in Pakistan. Law enforcement eliminated all five terrorists who participated in the assault.

PM Modi posted on X (formerly Twitter) informing about his paid tribute to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament Attack, "Paid homage to those martyred in the 2001 Parliament attack. Their sacrifice will forever inspire our nation. We remain eternally grateful for their courage and dedication."

What Was The 2001 Parliament Attack?

On this date, 23 years back, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack occurred, orchestrated by a terrorist group from Pakistan. The terrorist assault occurred at the Parliament of India in New Delhi, India, on the 13th of December, 2001. The assault was executed by five armed attackers, which led to the fatalities of six Delhi Police officers, two Parliament Security Service members, and a gardener.
