Congress leader Rahul Gandhi once again trained his guns on Prime Minister Narendra Modi after an audit report on the PM CARES Fund was released.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "PM lies."

Rahul Gandhi has been critical of the Centre and the PM CARES Fund. He had earlier alleged that the ventilators provided during the Covid-19 second wave using the funds were dysfunctional.

As per the audit, the amount received by PM CARES Funds is in billions, approx Rs 109,901,732,873. As much as Rs 10990 crores was received in 2020-21. More than Rs 7183 crores from "voluntary contributions" and over Rs 494 crores received from foreign contributors.

The audit statement revealed that there was an expenditure of Rs 3976 crores in 2020-21. Around Rs 1311 crores was spent on "Made-in-India" ventilators for government hospitals across the country. While Rs 1000 crores was allotted to states for migrant welfare.
