BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, facing criticism from Maharashtra’s opposition leaders over his controversial remarks against MNS chief Raj Thackeray, revealed an alleged list of properties linked to a Shiv Sena (UBT) leader in a post on Tuesday.
Taking to X, Dubey wrote, "Shiv Sena UBT leader's corruption story," and shared the following list of properties:
3 BHK flat, New More, Santacruz
4 BHK, 20th Road, Bandra
Flat in Rachna’s, Rameshwar, Samrudhi, Matrubhakti, Nallasopara
Flat in Air India Colony, Virar
Commercial shop, Kajupada, Borivali
Konkan Restaurant, Nallasopara
Residential property, Konkan, Kelve
Without naming anyone, Dubey questioned, "Paisa kahan se laate ho, bhai?" ("Where do you get the money from, brother?")
Dubey has become a target of opposition leaders in Maharashtra following his controversial response to Raj Thackeray’s instructions to MNS workers.
Criticising Thackeray, Dubey allegedly claimed that Maharashtra’s economy survives on money from outsiders. He further challenged those targeting Hindi-speaking individuals, saying, "If you dare to beat Hindi speakers, then beat those who speak Urdu, Tamil, and Telugu too. If you're such a 'boss', come out of Maharashtra—go to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, or Tamil Nadu. 'Tumko patak patak ke maarenge'..." ("We’ll thrash you repeatedly...")
His remarks sparked condemnation from opposition parties in the state. Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has urged Hindi-speaking leaders in Maharashtra to denounce Dubey’s statement.
