Jammu: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted searches at 12 locations in Jammu on Wednesday, March 19, in connection with a case related to cross-border terrorist infiltration, officials said. The raids, carried out in coordination with local police and security forces, were based on specific intelligence inputs.

According to ANI, the searches targeted hideouts of overground workers (OGWs) and hybrid terrorists involved in facilitating the movement of militants into Indian territory. Premises of suspected terror sympathizers and cadres of various organizations were also raided as part of the crackdown.

The NIA registered the case on October 24, following directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs. The investigation was launched based on intelligence regarding the infiltration of active terrorists linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed through the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).

Officials revealed that these infiltrations were facilitated by OGWs and other terror associates based in villages across the Jammu region. These individuals allegedly provided logistical support, including shelter, food, and financial assistance, to the infiltrating terrorists.

This is not the first time the NIA has acted in this case. In November last year, the agency conducted similar raids and recovered incriminating documents from the premises of several suspects.

The latest searches mark an intensified effort by security agencies to dismantle networks aiding terrorist infiltration. Authorities have assured that further investigations are underway, and more action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the raids.
