Busting a dummy candidate fraud in the NEET UG 2020 exam, Jaipur Police have arrested two doctors and a medical student who allegedly struck a deal worth ₹60 lakh to clear the exam using a proxy candidate. The arrested accused include Dr. Subhash Saini, a government medical officer; Ajit Gora, an intern at a medical college; and Sachin Gora, a final-year student at AIIMS Jodhpur.

Jaipur West DCP Amit Kumar said that on May 15, a resident of Chomu lodged a complaint regarding the fraud. During the investigation, records were examined from the National Testing Agency (NTA) and relevant educational institutions, which revealed that Sachin Gora never appeared for the NEET exam but secured admission to AIIMS Jodhpur.

Police investigations revealed that in the NEET-UG 2020 exam, Ajit Gora appeared as a dummy candidate using Sachin Gora’s credentials. He scored 667 marks, enabling Sachin’s admission to AIIMS Jodhpur. Officials confirmed that Sachin never took the exam himself.

According to the DCP, Sachin had contacted Dr. Subhash Saini in 2020 to help him pass NEET. Saini arranged the dummy candidate for Sachin and allegedly charged ₹60 lakh for the operation.

Investigations further revealed that Dr. Saini had previously collected ₹65 lakh through a similar fraud in 2013.

The arrested accused are being questioned to uncover the extent of the racket and determine whether more cases of impersonation are linked. Authorities suspect this may be part of a larger scam involving professional proxies and forged documents used to fraudulently secure medical seats.

Police have not ruled out additional arrests as the investigation continues. Authorities stated that AIIMS Jodhpur will be notified about the impersonation, and Sachin’s admission is likely to be reviewed.

“Such fraud undermines the integrity of medical education. We're ensuring a thorough probe,” said DCP Kumar.
