Kolkata: A day after meeting Union Home Minister Amit Shah and party national president JP Nadda, BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak about post-poll violence in West Bengal.

According to sources, not just post-poll violence also future party programs were chalked out in the meeting.

“Suvendu has informed about the violence and displaced BJP cadres. He even informed that several BJP cadres had to take shelter in Assam and 40 BJP cadres died due to the violence. Post-election party programs were also discussed,” mentioned the sources.

The sources also added highlighting a woman face to tackle women Chief Minister was also discussed.

“In order to counter Mamata Banerjee need of a woman face in the saffron camp was discussed and also implementation of Article 356 and ways to stop defection back to the ruling party was also held in the meeting,” further mentioned the sources.

Notably, after the poll debacle several turncoat leaders who had joined the saffron camp just ahead of the Assembly polls have shown their interest to join back the ruling Trinamool Congress.

After the meeting with the Prime Minister, Suvendu held a meeting with three BJP MPs Nisith Pramanick, Arjun Singh and Saumitra Khan who earlier this day went to the national capital.

According to sources, the three BJP MPs from West Bengal along with BJP MLA and Leader of Opposition Suvendu also held a closed-door meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

However, slamming Suvendu, TMC spokesperson and state general secretary Kunal Ghosh claimed that in order to save himself from getting arrested Suvendu is meeting the Prime Minister and the Home Minister.

Incidentally, a FIR has been filed against Suvendu and his brother Soumendu Adhikari for allegedly stealing tarpaulin from the relief material of Yaas at Contai.
