New Delhi : The BJP-led NDA had committed some “mistakes”, resulting in its drubbing in Bihar polls and same should not be repeated in forthcoming UP assembly elections, Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RSLP) said on Monday.
Speaking to press persons here, RLSP chief and Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha chose not to list the “mistakes” saying those should be discussed “internally”, but noted there is a “possibility” of NDA registering win in the crucial UP elections. “Since we experienced defeat in Bihar polls…such mistakes should not be repeated in UP polls. We would not have witnessed such drubbing had we not committed some mistakes. The BJP and all of us should learn from those mistakes. We will discuss the issue from this perspective,” the NDA ally said.
Whether not declaring Chief Ministerial candidate for the Bihar election was one of the mistakes, Kushwaha reiterated that those should not be discussed in public.
“Those should be discussed internally. But yes, if we don’t discuss the mistakes internally too, then it will hurt in future. So, this will definitely be discussed, we will insist on that,” he said during the briefing where he announced names of members of his party’s national committee.
On asked about him favouring ‘Ashok Rajya’ at a time when NDA major BJP pitches for ‘Ram Rajya’, Kushwaha cryptically said “different programmes have different subjects” and refused to speak more.
About the on-going crisis within UP’s ruling Samajwadi Party, the Minister said that party is on the verge of collapse “due to its own sins”.
“It is a matter of their family, party. It is not right for us to speak. SP is on the verge of split. It is impossible to avert it,” he added.–PTI
