Kolkata: On one side NCPI MPs met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday morning over breakfast on the other hand Leader of Opposition Ritabrata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress (TMC) faction had held a meeting with Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari at the state secretariat Nabanna.
Talking to the media, NCPI MP Sudip Bandhopadhyay said that the meeting with the Prime Minister was ‘successful’.
“The Prime Minister had said that once when Kolkata was the capital the condition of the state was really good. We will have to work to get back the lost glory. We will have to work for Eastern India and make Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Guwahati strong. He also took stock of our health and suggested everyone above 40 years of age must do a checkup. He also stated that the NDA family is growing,” said Bandhopadhyay.
Another NCPI MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar praising the Prime Minister added, “The Prime Minister had said that once materials and goods used to come from eastern India and developed other parts of the state. Now it is time to develop the eastern part of the country.”

Slamming the NCPI MPs, TMC MP Saugata Roy said that all of them who have defected to NCPI are ‘traitors’.
Meanwhile, Rebel TMC MLA Firhad Hakim who was part of the delegation which went to meet the West Bengal Chief Minister said that the problems they had been facing were discussed with the Chief Minister.
