The impeachment motion against Allahabad High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma, submitted by Opposition Members of Rajya Sabha over the recovery of wads of currency notes from his Delhi home in March, has not been admitted in the Upper House of Parliament, as per an NDTV report citing sources.
A government-sponsored motion in the Lok Sabha will be taken up, the report said.

The opposition-backed motion that was accepted by former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be scrapped.
This development comes days after Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation as Vice President, allegedly after the government reprimanded the Rajya Sabha Chairman for accepting the opposition-backed motion.

Meanwhile, Justice Varma moved the Supreme Court challenging the in-house inquiry committee's report which indicted him in the cash-at-home row.
The Supreme Court agreed to hear the plea filed by Justice Varma and said it will constitute a bench to hear the matter.
According to reports, senior advocates Kapil Sibal, Mukul Rohatgi, Rakesh Dwivedi, Siddharth Luthra and Siddharth Aggarwal will represent Justice Varma in the apex court.
