Amid the Opposition pressuring the government to discuss Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack, Parliament has reportedly allocated 25 hours for debate on these issues next week. According to reports, 16 hours have been allocated for Lok Sabha debate, while 9 hours have been reserved for Rajya Sabha debate.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to leave on a foreign visit this week, a debate on key issues is likely to take place when he returns to the House next week, news agency PTI reported, citing sources from the Business Advisory Committee.

Opposition members have protested against the government’s agenda for this week, arguing that it fails to address pressing concerns. They have demanded the presence of the Home Minister and the Defence Minister during the debate on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack.

Other issues that opposition leaders are pushing for discussion include the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Bihar and the ongoing situation in Manipur.

The Monsoon Session of Parliament kicked off on Monday.

Both houses of Parliament witnessed a ruckus caused by Opposition MPs, who raised slogans in support of their demands in the House. The proceedings of the Lower House were first adjourned until 12:00 p.m. and then until 2:00 p.m.

Earlier today, PM Modi appealed to all political parties to work together for the betterment of the country.

"The country has seen the power of unity. So all the MPs in the House, give it strength, take it forward and I will definitely say that every political party has its own agenda, its own role, but I accept this reality that 'Dal hitt mein mat bhale na mile lekin desh hit mein mann jarur mile' (political parties might have different opinions based on ideologies, but we should be on the same page when it is about the betterment of the nation)..." PM Modi said.
