Meerut: Muskan Rastogi, who is accused of conspiring and killing her husband Saurabh Rajput along with her boyfriend Sahi Shukla and is lodged in the Meerut jail, has now expressed her wish to fight her own case, for which she wants to pursue LLB.
According to the jail superintendent, Sahil's grandmother and brother came to meet him and they are talking about hiring a private lawyer, whereas Muskan did not have any visitors. Muskan has only a government lawyer, so she wants to fight her case herself and has demanded to study law.
Reportedly, Muskan has written a letter to the jail administration demanding education. Muskan, who is in jail, has understood that her family will not plead for her and no one will fight her case.
Muskan and Sahil have been in jail for the last 75 days. The duo killed Saurabh, chopped his body into pieces and then put it in a blue drum and mixed it with cement to conceal it.
Can Muskan Study LLB?
To study LLB, Muskan will first have to pass 10th and then 12th. Only after this can she can enrol in a 5-year BA-LLB or BCom-LLB course. "LLB is a regular course, which cannot be done while staying in jail. According to the rules of the Bar Council of India, LLB is not valid in distance mode. However, she can pursue other private or distance courses if she gets permission from the court", senior advocate Anil Bakshi said speaking to Navabharat Times.
