Ranchi: Maoist guerrillas blasted a railway track and a school building in Jharkhand’s Bokaro district early Thursday, police said.

The Maoists destroyed a 1.5-metre long stretch of the track between Dania and Jogeshwar Bihar station of Bokaro district, affecting services of six trains, officials said.

Officials said the services will be restored by the afternoon.

Maoist guerrillas also blasted a school building at Narayanpur village. Two landmines have been recovered in West Singhbhum district.

Polling is taking place for six Lok Sabha seats of Jharkhand, while Maoist guerrillas Thursday put poster in Dhanbad district urging people to boycott the polls.
