Kolkata: In a meeting with party MLAs, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that if Aam Admi Party (AAP) and Congress were together then the poll results of Delhi would have been different.

“AAP didn’t support Congress in Haryana and even Congress didn’t support AAP in Delhi polls. Result of Delhi polls will not have any impact on the Bengal Assembly polls scheduled next year. We will fight alone and Congress doesn’t have anything here. We will come back with two-third majority,” said party sources, as said by Mamata ahead of the budget session in the state Assembly.

Notably, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has returned to power in the national capital after 27 years.

A Trinamool Congress (TMC) legislator on anonymity said that the TMC Supremo had also asked all the legislators to work together with both party new and old workers.

“Every MLAs is asked to give three names as their recommendations on changes in the party’s students and youth wing within 15 days to state minister Aroop Biswas. Didi also cleared that she will not tolerate infighting and factionalism in the TMC,” said the TMC MLA.

The party MLA also mentioned that the party’s Supremo has also warned a few leaders for making controversial statements about the party in public..

However, the political analysts are of the mind that in the closed door meeting with the party MLA, Mamata made it clear that she is the last word in the party.
