Maharana Pratap was born on 9 May 1540. He was also known as "Mewari Rana" and was famous for his battle against the Mughals for several years. Maharana Pratap is best known for his valiant resistance against the Mughal emperor Akbar, who sought to annex Mewar into his empire. In 1572, he was anointed as the sovereign of Mewar.

Many historians have documented Maharana Pratap's bravery and his conflicts in various texts, primarily focusing on his renowned battle of Haldighati, which he waged against the Mughal emperor Akbar of that time.

The great warrior died on January 19, 1597, at the age of 56, from injuries sustained in a hunting accident. Maharana Pratap is celebrated as a symbol of Rajput valour and resistance against foreign domination. His death anniversary is a moment to honour his life and contributions to India's history.

Haldighati Battle

The Battle of Haldighati fought on June 18, 1576, is one of the most iconic battles in Indian history. It was a confrontation between the forces of Maharana Pratap, the ruler of Mewar, and the Mughal army led by Raja Man Singh I of Amber, a general of Emperor Akbar. The battle took place When Akbar wanted to control Mewar to secure a route to Gujart's seaports, which pass through Mewar, and Maharana Pratap refused to submit his kingdom. He fought with just 3,000 men 400 Bhil archers against 85,00 men of Akbar.

Although the Mughals emerged victorious, this battle is forever remembered as the greatest of Maharana Pratap's life due to the fierce resistance they posed, and the king successfully fled. With the aid of his renowned horse 'Chetak,' he could flee the battlefield and ensure his own safety.
