Prayagraj: A TV journalist was filled with emotion while covering a family's heartbreaking loss during the Maha Kumbh in a deeply moving event, a stampede-like situation took place in the wee hours of the day where many lives were lost.

The family, coming from a distant village to take part in the sacred Amrit Snan ritual, tragically lost a cherished member during a stampede. The Maha Kumbh event showcasing world's largest human gathering faced stampede that has caused about 15 fatalities.

Ankit Gupta, the ABP News journalist who has been reporting on the Maha Kumbh celebrations for multiple days, was seen being emotional when he heard the family's moving story. He took multiple breaks to gather his thoughts and talking to the audience while he interviewed the family.

While Ankit interviewed the devastated family, he appeared deeply affected by their story. A woman who was the daughter of the deceased member, stated that she lost her mother after she was crushed under the crowd to death in the stampede.

Ankit also interviewed the woman's father who accompanied the deceased. He narrated the incident to Ankit mentioning that after they had the holy bath, a huge crowd came towards them and commotion took place. He later mentioned that he tried to save his wife, but even he fell unconscious for half an hour.

The stampede occurred during the early morning hours, and the journalist can be seen speaking with a family that lost a relative in the stampede. The woman informs the journalist that she arrived with her parents and other family members to perform 'Amrit Snan' (holy bath) at Triveni Sangam when the stampede occurred.

When asked about what actually took place she said that her father informed her about her mother's death in the crowd surge. She later stated that they were unable to reach the father or view the mother's body.
