The Maha Kumbh 2025 has set a new record as one of the largest religious gatherings in history, with over 50 crore devotees attending the sacred event as of February 14.

The UP government had anticipated participation of close to 45 crore devotees, but the number of devotees taking a dip surpassed the estimate with the Maha Kumbh more than 13 days away from its conclusion.

According to reports, as of 8:00 am, nearly 8.54 million people took holy dips today. Among this congregation, more than 500 thousand Kalpavasis and over 6.42 million pilgrims have taken a dip.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and his family took a holy dip in Triveni Sangam. The Tripura CM prayed to the sacred Ganga river for the peace and prosperity of Tripura.

Maha Kumbh 2025, which commenced on January 13 this year, is the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering, attracting devotees from across the globe. The grand event will continue till Mahashivratri on February 26.

The new estimates suggest that a total of 55 crore devotees will participate in Maha Kumbh before its conclusion.

Even now, there is no room in trains or flights to reach Prayagraj for the next three weeks. Moreover, with 13 days left for the conclusion of the Mahakumbh, along with one more bathing festival, Mahashivratri, it is expected that the influx of devotees will continue even after the Maghi Purnima bath.
