Lucknow, February 01: In a tragic incident, two High Court lawyers lost their lives after their car drowned in a pond in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow on Saturday, February 1 morning. As per reports, the accident took place in Naubasta Kala village of Chinhat, Lucknow, when the car lost control and drowned in Bhelu Kala pond. The incident resulted in the death of the two High Court lawyers. A video post the incident is circulating in which their car is seen with the High Court sticker at the back of it.

According to the police, the car went out of control while they were travelling on Naubasta-Takrohi Road and ended up in the pond near a turn. Villagers who noticed the car in the water quickly informed the police. A rescue team along with firefighters arrived at the scene and after much effort, managed to pull the car out of the water.

The dead bodies retrieved from the car have been identified as Kuldeep Kumar Awasthi, a Standing Counsel at the High Court and Shashank Singh, a Brief Holder at the High Court. The police confirmed that both had drowned as the car slowly sank into the pond.

Aadhaar Cards Found In Car

The police recovered Aadhaar cards from the car, which helped identify the victims. Shashank Singh (36) was a resident of Baheda House, Naghita Road in Hardoi, and the son of Sanjay Kumar Singh. Kuldeep Kumar Awasthi (40) lived in Kaushalpuri Housing Society, Khargapur, Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow, and was the son of Krishna Kumar.

After completing the legal formalities at the scene, the police sent the dead bodies for post-mortem. The families of the deceased arrived shortly after being informed about the shocking accident and were heartbroken over the tragic loss.

Police Action

The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and are examining the CCTV camera installed in the area. The reason behind the horrific is not known yet. However, the police is investigating the matter.

Currently, the situation at the accident site is calm and the police are continuing their investigation to find out more details about how the accident happened.
