Lucknow, July 31: A shocking twist has emerged in the suicide case of ASP Mukesh Pratap Singh’s wife, Nitesh Singh (38), who was found hanging in her residence at the Police Lines Transit Hostel on Wednesday (July 30). While her family initially accused the officer of harassment and extramarital affairs, new CCTV footage has revealed disturbing details of the days leading up to her death. However, FPJ does not vouch for the authenticity of the video.

Details About The Incident

On Wednesday evening around 4 PM, Nitesh Singh’s 12-year-old daughter, Ananya, discovered her mother hanging from the ceiling fan and screamed for help. She immediately informed her father, who was at work, and he alerted the police.

ASP Mukesh Pratap Singh, a 2005-batch officer currently posted in the CID, was transferred to Lucknow from Bareilly just two months ago. His wife had reportedly been battling depression and was undergoing treatment for the same, according to DCP Ashish Kumar Srivastava.

Family’s Allegations

Soon after the incident, Nitesh’s brother, Pramod Kumar, former Firozabad District Panchayat Chairman, accused ASP Mukesh of having an extra-marital affair with another woman and mental harassment. He alleged that his sister had been living with her parents for the past seven months due to constant marital disputes and that Mukesh had installed CCTV cameras across the house to monitor her.

The Disturbing Video Evidence

A new CCTV video has now surfaced, allegedly showing Nitesh Singh attempting to harm her disabled son just a day before her suicide. The footage reportedly shows Nitesh trying to suffocate the boy with a pillow and later strangling his neck with her hands.

The act reflects her deep psychological distress and suggests that she was struggling to cope with her son’s medical condition. There are reports that the incident may have triggered an intense emotional breakdown, eventually leading to her suicide.

Police officials confirmed that the CCTV camera also captured the final moments when Nitesh climbed onto a stool and hanged herself.

Ongoing Investigation

While the family has lodged harassment allegations against ASP Mukesh, investigators are now examining the CCTV footage to understand Nitesh Singh’s mental state and sequence of events leading to her death.

ADCP Mamta Rani said that the matter is sensitive and under detailed investigation. Psychological factors, marital disputes and family allegations are all being considered in the probe.
