Bengaluru: With corruption taking the centre stage in ‘40% commission’ state of Karnataka, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal Wednesday rolled his political dice with an eye on the Assembly election in the state next year. “I have come here to form a government just as I did in Punjab,” he told supporters here.

Kejriwal will hold a meeting with the party state unit leaders to prepare a strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections, sources said. He will also attend a convention of farmers, women, and youth here Friday.

“Prime minister Narendra Modi made the CBI raid my residence... officials entered my bedroom but they couldn't find anything. Eventually the PM gave me the certificate of 'imandaar' CM. Ours is an honest government... we made it in Delhi then in Punjab, now we'll form a government in Karnataka," he said.

He then listed out his government’s achievement in Delhi and said: "Four lakh students came from private schools to government schools this year. Medical treatment for two crore people is free in Delhi. Earlier there were power cuts for eight hours... now people get electricity supply for 24 hours with zero bills."

AAP Karnataka convener Prithvi Reddy expressed confidence that Karnataka will be the Punjab of the South for the AAP. "It will be a historic day. So far farmers of the state have voted various parties to power but have only obtained false promises and cheating in return. Farmers of the state have now decided to enter politics themselves and shape their future. After studying all the parties, they today feel that only AAP is working to solve issues after understanding the difficulties faced by the people," he said.
