Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) examination has been scheduled for August 28-29.
Registration will begin from June 15, informed Deputy CM Dr CN Ashwathnarayan today.
The Karnataka Common Entrance Test for various vocational courses, including engineering, is scheduled to be conducted on August 28 and 29."The CET exam will take place on August 28 and 29. Each subject will carry 60 marks," Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwath Narayan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
The Maths and Biology exams will be held on the first day while Physics and Chemistry on the second day. Registration will commence from June 15, he said, adding that the PUC marks will not be taken into account. Narayan further said students will be required to score a minimum mark to clear the entrance test.
The state has cancelled the second year PUC exams while deciding to conduct the 10th standard examinations in the third week of July, according to Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar
The state government had earlier postponed the second year PUC examinations which were scheduled to begin from May 24, citing a surge in COVID cases as the reason. It had also postponed the SSLC examinations slated to start from June 21, citing similar reasons.
Following the CBSE's decision to cancel the class 12 board examination, several states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and more recently West Bengal have decided not to conduct the scheduled examinations.
