The Enforcement Directorate has raided RJD party leader Tejashwi Yadav's Delhi home on Friday in connection with the Land-for-jobs scam. The Enforcement Directorate is carrying out searches at over 15 locations in the case of alleged money laundering involving Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members.

ED questioned Rabri Devi earlier this week

Earlier, a CBI team reached at the residence of former CM Rabri Devi in Patna on March 6, officials inside her house confirmed.

According to reports, CBI reached Rabri Devi's residence regarding the land for job scam in Bihar. They also stated that it is not a raid or search, they are there to record her statements in the case.

The questioning session came a week before Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members, including Devi and their daughters Misa and Hema, are scheduled to appear in a Delhi court in connection with the case.

About CBI's land-for-jobs case

The CBI's land-for-jobs case names Yadav and his family members, along with 12 others, for allegedly buying land at throwaway rates in return for giving out jobs during Yadav's tenure as Union Railway Minister from 2004-2009.

The FIR, registered in May 2022, alleges that individuals were appointed as substitutes in Group-D posts in railway zones of Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Hajipur in violation of the guidelines laid down by the Railways. These individuals allegedly transferred ownership of their land to Yadav's family members and a company later taken over by the family.

Chargesheet filed on charges of conspiracy and corruption

The chargesheet filed by the CBI last year accused Yadav, his wife, and their daughters of conspiracy and corruption. However, RJD leaders have dismissed the allegations, claiming that they are politically motivated. They have accused the BJP of misusing central agencies, including the CBI, to target opposition leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The questioning of Rabri Devi came a day after nine opposition party leaders, including her son and Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the central agencies were being misused by the BJP for political purposes. The letter stated that the moves of central agencies "had often sparked suspicion that they were working as extended wings of the ruling dispensation".
