Kunal Kamra Shares First Pic Of Umar Khalid Out On Interim Bail, Says 'Heart Knows No Concept Of Time'

Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra on Friday shared a picture with former JNU scholar Umar Khalid, who is currently out of jail on interim bail in a case related to 2020 Delhi riots. Kamra posted the picture with the former JNU scholar on his Instagram handle with the caption "heart knows no concept of time".

New Delhi: Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra on Friday shared a picture with former JNU scholar Umar Khalid, who is currently out of jail on interim bail in a case related to 2020 Delhi riots. Kamra posted the picture with the former JNU scholar on his Instagram handle with the caption "heart knows no concept of time".

Famous Bollywood actor Richa Chadha commented a 'heart' emoji on Kamra's post. Notably, on December 18, a Delhi Court granted interim bail to Khalid to attend a wedding in his family from December 28 to January 3.

Khalid had reportedly sought interim bail for 10 days to attend the wedding. However, he was granted bail for seven days with certain conditions.

Interim Bail Conditions:

During his bail period, Khalid is forbidden from meeting witnesses or any person connected with the case.

He has also been barred from using social media.

Khalid is only allowed to meet his family, relatives and friends during the period of interim bail.

He will have to surrender before the concerned jail authorities at the end of bail period on January 3, 2025.

In October 2022, he was denied bail by Delhi High Court. Khalid faces charges under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with 2020 North-East Delhi riots.

The former JNU scholar was arrested in September 14, 2020 over allegations of larger conspiracy behind Delhi riots of February 2020. He has been in custody ever since. Fifty-three people were killed in the riots and more than 700 were injured.

Other accused in the case are Khalid Saifi, Natasha Narwal, Faizan Khan, Sharjeel Imam, Safoora Zargar, Athar Khan, Mohd. Saleem Khan, Saleem Malik, Tasleem Ahmed, Shadab Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Tanha, Shifa-Ur-Rehman, Gulfisha Fatima, Meeran Haider, Ishrat Jahan, Tahir Hussain.
