Kolkata: Braving rains the sacked teachers on Monday had continued with their protests.
The protesting teachers said that they will continue with their protests till they get back their jobs.
However, a delegation of sacked teachers is holding a meeting with the education minister Binod Kumar at Bikash Bhawan.
Brindaban Ghosh, a protesting teacher, said that their meeting was ‘not satisfactory’.
“We had expected that the Chief Minister or the Education Minister would hold the meeting with us. But to our disappointment only the Education secretary was there for the meeting. The education secretary could not give us satisfactory replies. Had the ministers attended the meeting then the meeting would have been successful. We have requested the state administration to push for the hearing of review petition in the Supreme Court. We will not sit for any fresh examination as we all got our jobs with our own merit” said Brindaban.
Habib, another protesting teacher said that in the days to come the protesting teachers apart from Kolkata will also hold protests at the national capital.
“We will intensify our protests till we get justice. We will also protest in New Delhi,” added Habib.
Meanwhile, two protesting teachers on Monday had left for the national capital hoping to meet President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
