Kolkata: The high octane Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) polls scheduled on December 19 will see a tough fight between the Trinamool Congress (TMC), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the CPI (M).
TMC heavyweights MP Mala Roy, MLAs Firhad Hakim, Atin Ghosh will be contesting the polls. Also, the ruling party this time has given tickets to children of heavyweight leaders like Chandrima Bhattacharya’s son Sourav Basu and Sashi Panja’s daughter Pooja Panja.
The Opposition, however, has mostly banked on new and young faces.
