Kerala to launch first technology business incubator centre

Kochi: The Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC) will launch on November 13 its first technology business incubation centre to focus on IT and electronic start-up ventures.

State IT Minister P K Kunhalikutty will inaugurate the 5,000 square feet centre located at KINFRA park near Kakkanad.

KSIDC is facilitating 120 seats for incubatees. Separate cabins and common work stations have also been contemplated.

Already eight start-up ventures have been selected and granted space in the incubation centre, it said.

The selected start-ups are from segments such as software, mobile application development, interactive game development, e-commerce activity, wireless charging technology, CSR management activity, virtual classroom for teaching practices, enterprise software product development, etc.

Companies like Datafactors Software (P) Ltd, Tutti Frutti Interactive, 3Q mentors, Grabmy Grocery and other individual promoters are setting up start-up ventures.

KSIDC also plans to open business incubation centres at INKEL Complex, Angamaly and at KSIDC’s Industrial Growth Centre, Kozhikode, shortly. Both the incubators will be multi-product business incubators.
