Bhagalpur: Janata Dal United - JD(U) MP from Bhagalpur Ajay Mandal and his men allegedly abused and thrashed two local journalists on Wednesday. The incident reportedly took place at the Bhagalpur airport two days ahead of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's visit to Bhagalpur. The injured journalists have been identified as Kunal Shekhar and Sumit Kumar.
The entire incident was recorded on camera and the video of the incident also went viral. In the clip going viral, it could be seen that the MP and his men abused and brutally thrashed the journalists. The injured journalists were initially admitted to a government hospital but later shifted to the bigger government hospital at Mayaganj, reported The Hindu.

After the incident, journalists in Bhagalpur demanded strict action against the MP and his men.
The Opposition slammed the ruling JD(U)-led government in the state The Congress MLA from Bhagalpur, Ajit Sharma, demanded stringent action against the MP.
Notably, CM Nitish Kumar is currently on a Pragati Yatra. The fourth phase of his yatra will begin from Bhagalpur.
