New Delhi: Expelled Janata Dal (United) leader Sabir Ali on Monday praised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s work.

An upset Aliwho was denied a nomination to the Rajya Sabha, accused the JD-U of  treating him unfairly because he was a Muslim.

“I heard that K.C. Tyagi is saying that he has expelled me from the party. Those people who are not even capable of fighting a Municipal Corporation election, are expelling a person who has dedicated his life to the party in every way,” said Ali.

“This is being done to me, because I am a Muslim. I gave everything I had to this party; even my money. These people will be given the result by public,” he said.

“I had the right to the Rajya Sabha. If the ticket would have been given to an honest person, then I would not have minded, but it was not given to me because I am a Muslim. When Nitish Kumar can betray me, he can easily betray the people of Bihar,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Ali had praised the policies crafted by Modi, and said, “Modi’s policies (in Gujarat) are good and Modi’s work for development is also laudable.”

He also said that smaller parties were trying to cheat Muslims in the name of secularism.
