Security forces named Asif Fauji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha, known by their aliases Moosa, Yunus, and Asif, as the main suspects in the April 22 attack in Pahalgam. According to officials, the trio has a history of involvement in previous terror operations in the Poonch region. Posters offering a Rs 20 lakh reward for actionable intelligence were displayed across South Kashmir.

“The public is urged to come forward with any information. Their identity will be kept strictly confidential,” a senior police official told ANI.

The posters carried a unifying message that read, "Kashmir stands together against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism." Security agencies had earlier released sketches of the suspects in an effort to gather leads.

India's Operation Sindoor

In response, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was aimed to dismantle planning and training centers used to orchestrate attacks like the one in Pahalgam.

“Our forces exercised exceptional restraint, ensuring that only specific terror-related facilities were hit,” an official statement from the Indian Armed Forces read.

Speaking about Opeation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a national address, said, “The strikes focused on locations in Bahawalpur and Muridke, areas long associated with global terrorism, including the 9/11 attacks and the London bombings.”

The Resistance Front (TRF), an affiliate of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba group, claimed responsibility for the Pahalgam massacre, marking it as the deadliest terror attack in the valley since Pulwama in 2019.
