Jaipur: Jaipur Police have ordered to remove inside latches on the doors of spas and massage centers in the city. This order is part of the strict guidelines issued by the Jaipur Police Commissionerate to curb the illegal activities going on in these centers and parlors in the name of spa and massage.

Commissioner (Law and Order) Dr. Rameshwar Singh said that many spas and massage parlors are operating in Jaipur and as there is no provision of license to run such centers, there are complaints of various illicit and objectionable activities. Looking at this, we have come up with some strict guidelines, violation of which will lead to punishable action.

The said guidelines provides to create separate centers for female and male customers with separate entry and exit and with no connectivity from inside. Along with this, it will also be necessary to keep a record of the working staff and the customers coming to the massage center.

Besides this, the rooms for spa and massage services will have to have automatic doors with no inside latch. The outer doors of the premises will also be kept open as long as the center is operational.

It will be mandatory for the employees giving massage to have a degree-diploma in physiotherapy, acupressure or occupational therapy from a recognized institute. Identity cards will have to be issued to the employees working at the center. The age of the employees working at the center should not be less than 18 years. There should not be any case related to immoral trafficking (prevention) against the director, manager, or employees of the center, said the guidelines.

Police verification of all the employees working at the spa-massage center has been mandatory as well. Dr. Singh said that violation of this order will attract a punishable prosecution under Section 223 of the Indian Justice Code.
