ISRO to launch Polar Vehicle Satellite on Oct 16

New Delhi: The Indian Space research Organisation (ISRO) is scheduled to launch its Polar Satellite Vehicle, PSLV- C26, on October16 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

The launch window of the mission will be open from 1.32 am to 1.47 am. The lift-off is scheduled at the opening of the launch window at 1.32 am.

The PSLV-C26, which will carry the 1,425 kilogram Indian Navigation Satellite IRNSS-1C is the third satellite of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System that has already been integrated with PSLV-C26.

The final phase of checks is in progress.

The Mission Readiness Review (MRR) Committee and the Launch Authorisation Board (LAB) met earlier this week to review the progress of prelaunch activities and cleared the launch for October 16.

The 67-hour countdown for the mission commenced at 6.32 am on Monday.
