Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), July 19: Karni Sena National Vice-President Thakur Yogendra Singh Rana has posted a video on social media and message on Facebook, making personal and inappropriate remarks against Kairana MP and Samajwadi Party leader Iqra Hasan. He also targeted AIMIM Chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his brother Akbaruddin Owaisi in the post. Yogendra Singh said in the video that he will marry the female MP and also recited few verses from the holy Quran. He also said that Owaisi brothers should call him "Jija".
In his video and Facebook post, Rana said he wanted to marry Iqra Hasan and even stated that he had spoken to his wife about it. He added that he would allow Iqra to pray Namaz in his house but put a strange condition that Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi, leaders of AIMIM, must call him “brother-in-law”.
Rana's Controversial Remarks
In his post, Rana wrote, "Kairana sansad Iqra Hasan abhi kunwari hain. Main bhi dekhne mein unse kam khoobsurat nahin hoon. Ghar-makaan bhi mera theek-thaak hai, zameen-jaidad aur maal ki bhi kami nahin hai."
The post further read, "Maine apni patni se bhi pooch liya hai. Moradabad mein kai makaan hain. Iqra Hasan chahein to mujhse shaadi kar sakti hain. Main unhein apne ghar mein Namaz padhne ki ijaazat de doonga. Lekin ek shart hai ki - Asaduddin Owaisi sahab aur Akbaruddin Owaisi sahab mujhe "jija" kehkar bulaayenge. Mujhe Iqra Hasan se nikaah qubool hai, qubool hai, qubool hai."
(MP Iqra Hasan is still unmarried. I am not less good-looking than her. I have a proper house and enough property. I own many houses in Moradabad. I’ve even taken permission from my wife. If Iqra wants, she can marry me. I will allow her to pray Namaz in my house. But there is one condition that Asaduddin Owaisi and Akbaruddin Owaisi must call me 'jija' (brother-in-law). Huge Backlash on Social Media
After Rana posted the video and message, many people strongly criticised him on social media. Many people commented, with most expressing anger and calling the post disrespectful and insulting to a woman MP.
Facing backlash on social media, Rana deleted the post and video within two hours.
Political Reactions
Many from opposition parties, especially the Samajwadi Party (SP), condemned the post. They called Rana’s remarks cheap, insulting and against the dignity of women leaders. Some leaders have demanded strict action.
Who is Iqra Hasan?
Iqra Hasan is the young MP from Kairana who was elected in 2024. She is known for her calm and dignified presence in Parliament and belongs to a political family. She is not known to have reacted publicly to Rana’s remarks yet.
However, making personal remarks against elected leaders, especially women, is inappropriate and goes against the democratic values of respect and dignity. Public figures are expected to behave responsibly, especially on social media.
