India Extends Airspace Ban On Pakistan Flight By A Month

The initial ban on Pakistani flights using Indian airspace was implemented on 23 April following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed at least 26 civilian lives. In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian carriers on 24 April.

India on Friday extended its airspace restrictions for Pakistani flights until 23 July, maintaining the NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) originally imposed on 23 June. The Ministry of Civil Aviation confirmed that Indian airspace remains prohibited for all aircraft registered in Pakistan, including those operated, owned or leased by Pakistani airlines or military aircraft.

The initial ban on Pakistani flights using Indian airspace was implemented on 23 April following the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed at least 26 civilian lives. In retaliation, Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian carriers on 24 April.

Pakistan today announced an extension of its airspace closure for all Indian operators until 24 June. These restrictions, originally set for one month until 23 May, comply with International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) regulations that limit airspace bans to one-month increments.
