New Delhi: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra confessed her admiration for actor Pankaj Tripathi during an interview with India Today. In a candid chat, the firebrand MP revealed the Hindi films and series she liked, “I watched the Munnabhai series, and I’ll watch it again. I loved Vicky Donor. And I absolutely love Pankaj Tripathi."
Expressing her admiration for Tripathi further, she said, “I’ve watched the entire Mirzapur series,” she said, adding that she particularly admired his portrayal of dark, gritty characters. “I think he’s the coolest actor. I loved him in Mirzapur, and even in Gangs of Wasseypur. I love the mean, bad roles he plays,” she added.
Moitra also revealed that she once wrote the actor a heartfelt note, hoping to meet him over coffee. “I said I’m a big fan, and I’d love to meet you. But apparently, he lives in Alibaug and doesn’t meet anyone for coffee,” she said, laughing.
She mentioned that she had asked a female TV anchor, who was scheduled to interview Tripathi, to deliver the note to him.
She also shared that she had approached actor-turned-BJP MP Ravi Kishan for an on-call interaction. “I asked Ravi for an introduction,” she revealed. “He actually made me speak to him on the phone. But I was so shy, I forgot I’d even sent him a note!" Describing how she felt during the call, she added, “I was so excited, but I barely spoke.”
On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi was last seen in the film Metro In Dino alongside Konkona Sen Sharma. He also appeared in the series Criminal Justice Season 4.
