Hyderabad, July 23: In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old youth died by suicide after losing around Rs 5,00,000 in online gaming. There are reports that the youth consumed poison and killed himself after losing the amount in a Ludo game on an online gaming app. The youth has been identified as Gaddameedi Venkatesh (23) and was working as a gardener at Roast Cafe.
As per reports from Telugu Scribe, Venkatesh was originally from Jakler village in Narva mandal, Mahbubnagar district. He had moved to Hyderabad four years ago where he was working as a gardener at Roast Cafe.
Venkatesh had been playing a Ludo game through a mobile app where real money was involved. Over time, he lost a whopping amount of Rs 5 lakh while playing. Deeply upset by the huge financial loss, he took the extreme decision of ending his own life.
There are reports that he tragically consumed poison and ended his life. The incident has reportedly shocked his family and friends. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.
