Amid heavy showers in Hyderabad, a boundary wall of the Central Reserve Police Force Group Centre collapsed. At the time of the wall collapse, a car was passing nearby. Fortunately, the vehicle escaped narrowly.

Hyderabad: Heavy rains wreaked havoc in Telangana's capital, Hyderabad, in the past 24 hours. Waterlogging is reported in several areas of the city. Amid heavy showers, a boundary wall of the Central Reserve Police Force Group Centre collapsed. At the time of the wall collapse, a car was passing nearby. Fortunately, the vehicle escaped narrowly.

The incident was captured on CCTV, and the video also surfaced online. In the video, it could be seen that the wall fell onto the road when the white-coloured car was passing nearby. All the occupants of the car are reportedly safe. The incident took place in Hyderabad's Chandrayangutta area on Friday, July 18.

Meanwhile, several roads in the city were left flooded. Videos of waterlogged roads in areas, including Banjara Hills, surfaced online. In the visuals, people could be seen wading through rainwater to reach their destinations.

The floodwater also entered houses in several residential areas. The Moosarambagh bridge area was among the worst-hit areas.

Due to the incessant showers, IndiGo, on Friday, also issued an advisory for commuters. "It is pouring steadily across #Hyderabad, and several key routes are already being affected. This could mean longer, slower journeys to the airport. If you are travelling today, please check your flight status before you leave and allow for extra travel time," the airline said in an X post.

"We also recommend using a maps app to find clearer routes. Our teams are closely monitoring the weather and are at the airport to assist you. Thank you for staying patient with us as we help you get to your destination safely," it had added.

The other affected areas of the city are - Bathukamma Kunta, Jeedimetla Industrial Area and Nacharam Bhavaninagar.

Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted rainfall and thunderstorms in Hyderabad till July 24.
