Hyderabad: The Hyderabad City Civil Court in Telangana on Tuesday morning received a bomb threat email. A bomb disposal squad reached the spot after receiving the information. Senior officials also rushed to the court.

Authorities received the threat email at around 3:15 am, and after reading the email at around 11 am, the police were informed. The threat email was sent under the name ‘Abida Abdullah’, reported News 18. The court was vacated after the bomb threat email.

The sender claimed to have planted bombs at four locations - the City Civil Court in the Old City, the Judge’s Chambers, the Judges’ Quarters and the Gymkhana Club, the media report added. The email also mentioned that RDX and IEDs were used to carry out explosions.

So far, nothing has been found. “The bomb squad and other officials are conducting a thorough search of the court premises,” said the Inspector of Mirchowk police station, told ANI.

More details are still awaited.

Last month, Mumbai was on a high alert after bomb threats were issued to the U.S. Consulate and two international schools—Kanakia International School in Govandi and Ryan International School in Kandivali East. The email threat allegedly mentioned a rape case in Hyderabad and claimed that “only if children die parents will protest and police will do proper investigation” and “provide justice for rape victim from Hyderabad”.
