Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): An IndiGo flight from Tirupati to Hyderabad was forced to return to its origin shortly after takeoff on Sunday evening due to a technical issue. The incident took place around 7:55 pm, involving flight 6E 6591, which had just departed from Tirupati Airport.

After takeoff, the aircraft experienced a technical snag that led it to circle the skies for nearly 40 minutes as part of standard safety assessment protocols. Later, the pilots decided to return to Tirupati as a precautionary measure. Details regarding the number of passengers on board were not immediately available.

Imphal-Bound Flight Forced To Return To Delhi

This incident adds to a recent string of technical glitches affecting IndiGo flights. Just a few days earlier, on July 17, another IndiGo flight, this one en route from Delhi to Imphal, was also forced to return to the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. Flight 6E 5118 had been airborne for approximately an hour when a minor technical snag was detected.

Following standard safety procedures, the pilots chose to turn the aircraft around. The airline confirmed that after landing, the aircraft underwent thorough technical checks and resumed its journey once cleared for further travel. IndiGo issued an apology to passengers for the inconvenience caused.

Goa-Bound IndiGo Flight Makes Emergency Landing At Mumbai Airport

A day prior to the Delhi-Imphal flight issue, on July 16, yet another IndiGo aircraft encountered a mid-air emergency. Flight 6E 6271, an Airbus A320 Neo operating from Delhi to Goa’s Manohar International Airport, reported an engine malfunction during flight. As a result, the plane was diverted to Mumbai, where it successfully made an emergency landing at 9:52 pm at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. In a statement, IndiGo said that a technical snag led to the diversion and reassured that safety protocols were followed.
