Travellers vaccinated using Serum Institute of India's Covishield vaccine may not be eligible for the European Union's COVID-19 'green pass'. As per recent reports however, Vaxzevria - the version of the AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine that is produced in the UK and Europe - has been approved. As the MEA reportedly takes up the issue, SII Chief Adar Poonawalla took to Twitter to reassure people.

"I realise that a lot of Indians who have taken Covishield are facing issues with travel to the EU. I assure everyone, I have taken this up at the highest levels and hope to resolve this matter soon, both with regulators and at a diplomatic level with countries," he tweeted.

Further details awaited.
