In a joint operation, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Faridabad Special Task Force (STF) have arrested Abdul Rahman for allegedly conspiring to attack the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Two hand grenades were reportedly recovered from his possession.

Abdul Rahman, 19, is a resident of Manjnai village in Inayat Nagar Kotwali area of Ayodhya district, Uttar Pradesh. According to family members, he has only completed his education up to the 10th grade. His family consists of his parents and three younger sisters.

Following Rahman's arrest, Ayodhya police summoned his parents for questioning but later released them. Rahman's mother Yasmin told authorities that her son worked as a rickshaw puller in Ayodhya. She claimed that he had once gone to Delhi to attend a gathering and returned to Ayodhya after about four months. He recently left home again, saying he was going to meet a friend in Delhi.

"My son has been framed," Rahman's mother insisted during questioning. Family members also mentioned that Rahman had a heart condition for which he had received treatment.

According to reports, about 25 police officers conducted a raid at the family's home. Rahman's parents were kept at the police station overnight for questioning before being released in the morning.

Investigators allege that Rahman had previously conducted reconnaissance of the Ram Temple and shared critical information with Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. He is also accused of having connections with several radical organisations.

The authorities have not yet released details about when Rahman will be presented in court or the specific charges filed against him. The investigation is ongoing.
