The format of the talks cannot be on the lines of a radical ideology like ISIS. If anyone wants to discuss, they must accept the recognition of the Indian Constitution. He said that if they reject the Constitution and try to impose a parallel system, there is no justification for dialogue.

Raipur: The government is making sincere efforts to resolve the Naxal problem in Chhattisgarh, Deputy Chief Minister cum Home Minister Vijay Sharma said. The state government is ready for any kind of meaningful dialogue, provided there are no preconditions. He said that if the Naxalites genuinely want to return to the mainstream and are willing to talk, they must publicly clarify their representatives and the terms of the negotiation.

The format of the talks cannot be on the lines of a radical ideology like ISIS. If anyone wants to discuss, they must accept the recognition of the Indian Constitution. He said that if they reject the Constitution and try to impose a parallel system, there is no justification for dialogue.

Government policy clear – Surrender, get rehabilitation

The Deputy Chief Minister also reiterated that the Chhattisgarh government has implemented the best rehabilitation policy to date. Naxalites who surrender and want to return to the mainstream will be provided with security, rehabilitation, and employment opportunities under this policy. The people who have been disillusioned got diverted from the mainstream and want to return to society and live a well-ordered life, the government is ready to support them, DyCM said.

Implementation of the Constitution in every village

In the past one to one and a half years, the tricolor has been hoisted for the first time in 40 villages, where Naxalites used to try to impose their own laws. He said that now it is mandatory to fly the tricolor and follow the Indian Constitution in all the villages of the state.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma said that if the Naxalites are serious about the talks, they should form a committee for dialogue from their side and come forward with a clear proposal.

He reiterated, the government's stance is clear – the doors of dialogue are open, but there will be no compromise on violence and bloodshed. Naxalites will have to lay down their arms and surrender, only then a meaningful solution is possible.
