Ghaziabad: A shocking incident of robbery surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad, where two men disguised as online deliverymen stormed into a jewellery store in broad daylight. They reportedly ran away with valuables, worth over Rs 30 lakh. The robbers left the store within six minutes.
The incident took place at Mansi Jewellers, located in the Brij Vihar area under the jurisdiction of the Link Road police station. The entire heist was caught on CCTV installed at the showroom, and the video soon went viral on social media.
The 45-year-old owner of the jewellery shop alleged that two armed robbers took away silver, gold, and cash. The incident took place at around 3:30 pm when Krishna Kumar Verma went out of his shop, the police said, as reported by Hindustan Times. Verma's help Shubham Kumar (18) was alone at the shop when the robbers barged in.
"Verma alleged that two men arrived on a bike and knocked at the shop’s door. However, Kumar did not open the door soon. Later, the men entered the shop, showed a country-made firearm at the owner and slapped him several times,” Shweta Yadav, assistant commissioner of police (ACP) (Sahibabad), as quoted by the media house.

As per the police, the armed robber took away 20kg of silver, 125 grams worth gold and Rs 20,000 in cash. The current value of the ornaments robbed by the two men is between Rs 35 to 38 lakh, reported Hindustan Times.
The accused were wearing jackets on online food delivery apps. The police are scanning the CCTV footage to identify the robbers. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
