Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, newly appointed National General Secretary and in-charge of Punjab by the All India Congress Party, has refrained from commenting on rumors about TS Singh Deo potentially becoming the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president.

The Congress party faced significant losses in the recent civic body elections, prompting grassroots workers to express concerns on social media about the party's strategy and weak state leadership. Speculation arises that current Congress State President Deepak Baij may be replaced, with many attributing the election downturn to the previous Baghel administration's policies.

Baghel has chosen not to comment on these issues. Senior Congress leader Amarjeet Bhagat suggested that the electoral defeat was due to poor coordination within the party, a statement Baghel distanced himself from, calling it Bhagat's personal opinion.

Addressing the harsh criticisms from party members regarding the electoral loss, Baghel emphasized that social media reactions differ from the appropriate discourse, stating that grievances should be raised within party channels.

When questioned about the potential replacement of Deepak Baij with TS Singh Deo, Baghel stated that only the party's high command can comment on appointments regarding the state presidency. He affirmed that decisions on state-level organization matters are reserved for the high command and they do not engage in such discussions.

Baghel noted that while they can offer advice or insights if requested, ultimately, it is the high command's prerogative to make decisions.

On a related note, following his promotion to a national level position, Baghel was set to leave for Delhi on Monday to attend a meeting convened by Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge.
