'Forceful Penetration, Bite Marks on Body': Shocking Revelations In Kolkata Gangrape Survivor's Medical Report

Kolkata: The medical examination report of the 24-year-old first year law student at South Calcutta Law College has revealed spine chilling details. Abrasion marks have been found around the neck and breasts of the rape survivor, who alleged that she was gang-raped inside the campus by a former student and two current students on the evening of June 25.

According to police, “The evidence corroborated what the survivor alleged in her complaint lodged with the Kasba Police Station. There is evidence of forceful penetration, bite marks and nail scratches on her body," a police officer was quoted saying by news agency PTI.

Police have arrested the three accused men, including a practising criminal lawyer and two senior students have been remanded to police custody for four days. Forensic experts have sealed the crime spot and seized mobile phones of the accused  to find out whether the video of the assault was forwarded to other numbers or not.

The prime accused Monojit Mishra, 31 is a former student and current Organising Secretary of the South Kolkata district of the ruling TMC's student wing, Trinamool Congress Chhatra Parishad (TMCP), was produced before the Alipore court on Friday, along with the other two accused, and was sent to police custody till July 1.

The Trinamool Congress has denied any current link with the accused and demanded "severe punishment" if he is found guilty.

The other two accused have been identified as Zaib Ahmed, 19, and Pramit Mukhopadhyay, 20, both third-semester students of the college.

The survivor was threatened against informing anyone about the assault, with threats made against her boyfriend and family.

Leader of opposition in the West Bengal assembly and BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari, has warned of escalating protests, while both the BJP and Congress have announced agitation programmes for Saturday.

The National Commission for Women has taken suo motu cognisance of the case and directed Kolkata Police to submit a detailed report within three days.
