Five killed as cars collide on highway in TN

Tiruchirappalli (TN): Five persons were killed and three others injured when two cars collided on a highway near here in the wee hours today.

The mishap occurred when a speeding car jumped over the road median after its driver lost control and collided with another car coming from the opposite direction at Panchapur, police said.

Four occupants, including a 15-year old boy, of the car proceeding to Aruppukkottai from Kumbakonam and one person in the car coming from the opposite direction died on the spot.

The injured have been admitted to a government hospital here, police said.
