The controversy and irregularities committed in large-scale transfers made in Uttar Pradesh might cost dear to errant bureaucrats. Taking the matter seriously, the UP Chief Minister has sought details of transfers made in various departments.
The CM has formed committees of senior IAS officers to look into the complaints of irregularities in the transfers made in three departments particularly Health, Animal Husbandry and Public Works. As per the reports, the top officials heading these departments had overlooked the transfer policy of the state government and made transfers of their own will. The Deputy CM of UP and in charge of the health department, Brajesh Pathak questioned these transfers and wrote a letter seeking details. After this, the CM formed a committee headed by the state Chief Secretary DS Mishra to probe the allegations.
According to a senior official in the UP government, the CM has taken the reports of irregularities in transfer seriously and ordered an enquiry. He said that enquiry committees have been asked to submit reports within two days. The CM might act tough on the errant officials who played role in these transfers and they might be sidelined.
