In another development, former TRS MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, on Thursday, announced that he will join BJP. While addressing the media, he claimed that only BJP can win against the TRS.
"We have seen seen in the last few elections that most anti-KCR votes have been going to BJP. The ruling party's anti-incumbency cannot be seen in Hi-Tec City. One has to go to the villages and bastis to see," Reddy said.
Speaking to ANI, Reddy said, "I decided today that I'll join BJP in Telangana. Once Telangana achieved statehood, we all had great aspirations. We can do wonders with funds for one of the richest states. But what happened is exactly the opposite."
Entrepreneur Konda Vishveshwar Reddy resigned from the grand old party on March 15. As per sources, the MP was displeased with the party's condition in the state and central level.
An Indian engineer, entrepreneur, and politician, Reddy had joined the Indian National Congress. Before that, he was a member of Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He had fought and won the 16th Lok Sabha elections from Chevella, Telangana on a TRS ticket by a margin of over 75,000 votes.
During his term, he was one of the richest serving MPs in the parliament. He is the only parliamentarian from India to be granted a US patent while serving as a Member of Parliament.
