Chhattisgarh Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat who was on trip to Rajnandgaon became an internet sensation for his alleged irresponsible remarks on liquor ban.

Netizens flooded the internet with memes for the way he refused to acknowledge a journalist on liquor ban.

After taking charge of District Minister Rajnandgaon, Amarjeet Bhagat was on his official visit to Rajnandgaon on Friday. He interacted with the media, regarding the status of promises made by the Baghel government.

Notably, Congress had mentioned in its election manifesto in 2018 that it will implement liquor ban in the state, which instead of having control on liquor sale, became rampant in the state.

During the interaction, one journalist questioned Minister Bhagat and expressed concern about uncontrolled spike in liquor sale "damaging the culture" of the state. The Minister intentionally ignored it. But when the reporter repeated the question and reminded him about the promise the Congress party made in 2018, Minster Bhagat bizarrely repeatedly replied, "I didn't hear your question".

The jeering gesture towards the journalist got captured and was circulated on social media and soon started trending.

Former Chief Minister Raman Singh also mocked the Minister and tweeted, “before the election all the things were visible and audible to Congress, now nothing is audible or visible”. "Therefore, the public is saying it is time to repent. Chhattisgarh will remember all", he added. .

Chhattisgarh Janta Congress Party leader Pradip Sahu said that he will provide the Minister hearing aid device for better understanding.
