Delhi: A Delhi family’s Eid celebration turned into tragedy when their two-year-old daughter was mowed down by a car driven by their minor neighbour in central Delhi’s Paharganj area on Sunday.
The mishap occurred when a 15-year-old boy driving a black Hyundai car ran over a minor who was playing on the street outside her home. A disturbing video of the CCTV footage of the incident has gone viral on the internet. The incident reportedly took place around 6.15 pm on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Anaabiya. In the video, the car is seen slowly comming close to the minor, stopping about a metre away. It then started moving again, crushing the child under its left front wheel.

Local residents rushed to the car and pulled the child out from under the wheel. However, the minor succumbed to her injuries while being taken to the hospital.
During police inquiry, it was revealed that the vehicle involved in the accident belongs to a neighbour of the victim's family, and his son was driving at the time of the accident.
A case has been registered under sections 281 (rash and negligent driving) and 106(1) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS, and further investigation is underway.
