New Delhi, February 9: The oath-taking ceremony for the new Chief Minister of Delhi is expected to take place after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his visit to the United States. PM Modi will visit US on February 12-13 to meet US President Donald Trump. The event is set to be a grand affair, marking the BJP's return to power in Delhi after 27 years. Chief Ministers from all NDA-ruled states are likely to attend the grand event.
Parvesh Sharma Most Likely To Be Delhi CM
The BJP has not yet announced its choice for Chief Minister, but newly elected MLA from New Delhi, Parvesh Verma, is seen as the frontrunner. He gained attention by defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi assembly constituency. A former two-time MP from West Delhi, Mr. Verma was denied a parliamentary election ticket last year but successfully contested the assembly elections, defeating Mr. Kejriwal by 4,000 votes. He is the son of former Delhi Chief Minister, late Sahib Singh Verma.

Government Formation Plans
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to meet BJP president JP Nadda today to discuss the formation of the government in the national capital, as per reports from NDTV. Delhi BJP chief Virendraa Sachdeva will also meet with the 48 newly elected MLAs in the evening today. Reports indicate that PM Modi, Amit Shah and JP Nadda held discussions about the government formation and oath ceremony at the BJP headquarters during the victory celebrations held on Saturday (February 8) night.

PM Modi thanked Delhi's voters for their trust in "Modi ki Guarantee" and promised to prioritise the national capital's development. He emphasised that Delhi, as the nation's capital, deserves the best infrastructure and governance.
