A 26-year-old man was arrested by the Delhi police for allegedly killing a who had asked him to pay back a loan of Rs 30,000.
According to India TV, the accused has been identified as Nitin Yadav and the deceased was identified as Bhoj Narayanan. The accused didn’t kill the victim alone, he did it with the help of a juvenile, who was also apprehended by the police. The incident was reported from south-west Delhi. Later after the incident, Yadav, a resident of Kapashera, made a call to the police control room (PCR) on March 21 to cover up his act.
Yadav told the PCR that he was taking one injured person, who had met with an accident, to the hospital. On his statement, an enquiry was made but no eyewitnesses came forward. Yadav in his statement to the police said that he was known to the injured person and had admitted him to a hospital in Dwarka area. The doctors had declared the injured person as brought dead upon their arrival in the hospital, the accused had said.
The police said that there were certain discrepancies in Yadav’s statement and it also did not match information gathered from surveillance. Later during interrogation, Yadav confessed to his involvement in the case and stated that he had killed the deceased with the help of a juvenile. He said he used an iron rod to beat the victim to death. Yadav also said that he had borrowed Rs 30,000 from the deceased and when Narayanan came to ask for his money, he planned to kill him.
